Themes for the conference
The Design for tomorrow’s customer today conference will take place in Beijing (Monday 14th September 2009), Shanghai (Thursday 17th September 2009) or London (Monday 26th October 2009). In addition to the conferences, there will be an exclusive half day intensive workshops taking place in Beijing and Shanghai the day after the conferences.
The conferences focus on five core case studies:

2. Branding – design process & customer expectations
Bridging the gap between customer and brand by anticipating what the customer will want next is a hugely important skill for business. This case study will draw on theory from the mobile telecommunications, fashion and luxury goods industries and how to plan for your business, whatever the sector.
3. Trend forecasting
Knowing tomorrow’s customer today and learning lessons from the future. With real case studies from the leisurewear and fashion sectors in Europe, the session will be of huge interest to retailers, manufacturers, buyers and sector analysts as well as all those present and will ensure that the art of understanding your customers and successful market research and analysis are channelled into your design and innovation processes.
4. Supply chain
Based on the technical supply chains in children’s clothing, footwear and glassware, this case study looks at putting theory into practice and improving process through measurement and refinement. This is vital for retailers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, import and export agents and buyers.
5. Sustainability
Delivering volume sales and management from the workshop to the high street, an insight into sustainability is delivered with focus on the textiles industry and relevant to all manufacturers, retailers, craft designers, fashion and academics.
